Elemental Ark

Several creatures have been infused with elemental essence.  Air, Fire, Ice, Lightning, Nature, Stone, and Water incarnations of elements are everywhere.  Not all creatures are affected, but those that were have been bestowed benefits.

Creatures not infused with an element suffer an extreme damage penalty and are afflicted with elemental feedback (a debuff based on the victim's element).

Creatures that fall victim to an attack that they are weak to will be afflicted with elemental feedback as well.
